guys im literally having a panic attack rn

just found out my prof mentioned using 'advanced plagiarism detection' for our final papers and now im spiraling lol. like i've been super careful with citations and everything but you know how sometimes you read so many sources that your brain just... absorbs the info? and then when you write it feels like it might sound too similar even though you're trying to paraphrase??

this is soooo stressful. what is the best plagiarism checker i can use to double-check my work before submitting? obviously im broke (hello, college student life) so it needs to be free. i've seen random websites advertising plagiarism checkers but honestly some look sketchy af and im worried they might steal my paper or something

need something reliable that'll catch accidental similarities so i don't accidentally screw myself over. this paper is worth like 40% of my grade and i've already pulled multiple all-nighters working on it. has anyone actually used free plagiarism checkers that work well?? im getting desperate here and my anxiety is through the roof lmao help!!

don't waste time with plagiarismdetector.net - I tried it for my history essay and it flagged EVERYTHING as plagiarism, even my properly cited quotes and reference list

it's supposed to match the sources lmao. clearly doesn't understand how academic writing actually works or what citations are supposed to look like.

made me panic for no reason until I realized the checker was just broken

Honestly, if you're really freaking out (which I totally get), my move has been to run the draft through Grammarly's free version first - even though it's limited, it sometimes flags weird phrasing overlaps. Then I’ll do one last manual pass comparing my sentences to key sources.


At least that way you have some peace of mind before submitting. Nothing is 100% free and perfect sadly — the good university-level checkers cost $$ for a reason.
