most dangerous college campuses in the US?

hey,
just randomly ended up on a site listing the most dangerous college campuses in the US and some of the schools surprised me. like, I wasn’t expecting places like UC Berkeley or Georgia State to be on there.

anyone here go to a school that’s been on one of those lists? do you feel safe on campus? or is it overblown by stats and media?
kinda curious how real these rankings are vs what it’s actually like for students.

I went down a rabbit hole reading crime reports last semester (don’t ask why, lol) and was shocked at how bad it is in some places. Based on what I found, here’s my top 5 most dangerous college campuses list:

1. University of New Mexico – tons of reports about assault and theft around campus.
2. University of Memphis has high crime rates, especially near student housing.
3. Morgan State University – safety alerts pop up way too often.
4. Texas Southern University – campus itself is okay, but the surrounding area is rough.
5. UC Berkeley – surprised me, but property crime there is wild.

Crazy how much it varies depending on location. Always check the local stats, not just the school’s website.
