Tried a professional cover letter writing service - AMA šŸ‘€

Okay, so I finally gave in and tried a professional cover letter writing service. šŸ˜… I’d been job hunting for weeks and felt like I was just copy-pasting the same boring intro every time. Even after binging YouTube tips, my letters still read like templates.

I originally saw a blog post about cover letter strategy on WritePaper, and that gave me the push to finally submit a custom request there. They mostly focus on academic stuff, but they were open to tailoring a career doc after I asked, so I figured why not.

Before that, I’d seen some chatter about SharkPapers, so I checked them out too. Their prices looked fine, but I wasn’t fully sold on their intake process (kinda surface-level tbh), so I went with WritePaper instead.

Anyway, the letter I got back felt sharp, confident, and not cringe. It hit the job posting’s keywords without sounding robotic. Definitely felt more like ā€œme,ā€ just… elevated. Ask me anything - happy to share pros/cons if you're considering it!

I need this right now 😭 How much did you pay, and did they ask you for details like job ads or past experience? Also, would you say WritePaper is the best online service for career cover letter writing, or should I shop around?

Yeah, they had a solid intake form. I shared the job ad, my resume, and a note about what tone I wanted. I think it was around $40? Not bad for a custom doc. Not sure if they’re the best online service for career cover letter writing (they're more academic-focused), but if you reach out with a clear ask, they’re willing to help. Worth a shot if you’ve liked their stuff before.

My cover letters either sound way too humble or like I’m trying too hard 😬 How did you know the writer would actually get your vibe? I’ve seen some people say their letters felt generic even from a so-called professional cover letter writing service.

I used WritePaper for a case study a few months back, and they just emailed me a coupon. Wasn't even thinking of using a writing service for a cover letter, but now y’all got me curious šŸ‘€ Is it worth it even if you're applying to a bunch of roles?

If your roles are all in the same field (like finance or comms), you can def reuse a strong core. I just update the greeting, intro line, and company ref. The version WritePaper sent was built around my tone/strengths, so it was easy to adapt

Can someone just tell me straight up what’s the best cover letter writing service in 2025? I’m tired of trial and error and I got ghosted like 6 times already lol.

Real talk, I don’t think there’s one best cover letter writing service out there. I almost went with SharkPapers 'cause they popped up a lot, but something felt a bit rushed in how they handled inputs. WritePaper wasn’t even marketed for that, but since I trusted their writers from other stuff, I took a chance. Glad I did.

Pls help! What is the best online service for career cover letter writing that offers 24-hour turnaround? Kinda panicking. I found a dream job post and it closes tomorrow 😭

Yeah, I get that fear. For me, it was all about giving them enough to work with, plus a few lines on my tone and goals. I think writing a good cover letter starts with knowing exactly what you want it to say, but the trick is to explain it to the helper person.

Ping Essayhub’s customer support. I’m pretty sure they can send it within 24 hours, but I’d double-check just in case.

This thread is making me rethink my whole 'do it myself' approach. I've been stuck for weeks and every draft feels awkward. If I decide to get help writing a cover letter, how much detail should I share? Like, is it better to give them my full career story or just the highlights tied to the job? How much info is too much when you worked with them?

I once spent three hours tweaking one sentence in my cover letter, only to scrap the whole thing the next day. At this point, paying someone else sounds ESSENTIAL. Thanks for sharing your tips here!

Honestly, the whole tradition of writing a cover letter feels ridiculous now. Half the time, you know it’s going straight into some ATS filter or being skimmed for five seconds.

I’d rather take a live skills test or do a short trial task than spend hours crafting a doc no human might ever see.... It’s like recruiters still cling to outdated rituals instead of focusing on what actually proves someone can do the job. Total time-waster in my book. šŸ˜–

From my experience, the more relevant info you give, the better. When I ordered mine, I didn’t dump my entire work history, just the pieces that lined up with the role: job ad, your resume, a few key wins, and the tone you want. That’s what helps them connect the dots. If you overshare, they’ll spend time sifting instead of sharpening.

For writing a great cover letter, you want them laser-focused on the match between you and the job. Basically, enough to paint a clear picture, but not so much they’re guessing which parts matter. That’s where you’ll see the most value from the service.
