I’ve tried every hack - timers, body doubling, dopamine playlists - and still find myself deep cleaning the kitchen at 2am instead of writing my essay.
What’s really helped you manage school with ADHD (especially during exam season)?
Body doubling helps me a ton, I just hop on virtual study rooms (like Studyverse or Focusmate), feels like someone’s watching so I stay on task Also started using Pomodoro timers + dopamine playlists. Not perfect, but way better than nothing!
Honestly? micro-deadlines. I break everything into stupidly tiny tasks (like “write intro hook” or “find 2 sources”) and set timers for each. Also switched to visual planners (I use Notion + color-coded boards) - seeing small wins keeps me from spiraling. Still messy sometimes, but it helps!
nothing really worked for me until I got on proper ADHD medication. The hacks help, but meds gave me enough focus to actually use them. Everyone’s different, but if you’re still struggling hard, might be worth talking to a doctor
