Need recommendations for an AI tool that can help clean up my writing style without setting off plagiarism alarms 📚 Been pulling all-nighters and my brain is fried, but my professor is super strict about originality reports. What's actually worked for you guys?

Rytr.me was my desperate 2am solution last month when facing a deadline for my comparative lit paper. My honest review after trying it on several essays:

PROS:
Does a decent job with simple, straightforward content
Interface is pretty intuitive
Quick results when you're in a time crunch

CONS:
Absolutely butchers complex theoretical concepts
Has this weird tendency to make everything sound like a marketing brochure
Sometimes creates sentences that are technically correct but sound completely unnatural to human ears
I've experimented with QuillBot's essay rewriter ai pretty extensively for my own writing (not for grading papers, obviously 😴).
It's solid for basic rewording and can definitely freshen up stale phrasing, but watch out - it sometimes completely shifts the meaning of technical or nuanced points. I've had entire arguments flip because it misunderstood context.
Good for rough drafts when stuck, but you absolutely need to review everything it changes with a critical eye. Not a "set and forget" solution by any means

Experimented with Scribbr's essay ai rewriter last semester
Found it most useful for addressing repetitive language and awkward phrasing. Definitely not a replacement for actually understanding your material though, if you use it, I'd recommend changing small sections at a time rather than full essays. Makes it easier to catch unwanted alterations.

I am an Al product developer and a scholar in the humanities and social sciences. Al tools can't replace my brain work but sometimes they do reduce a lot of effort. I don't need to do a lot of literature gathering, they can summarize and extract the most critical parts for me. That's good. I developed a Product called Scifocus, which I created with the idea of making an Al-integrated tool that focuses on the academic writing.
